Regional Policy Meeting Outcomes: Reforming the International Financial Architecture
Representatives from 13 Caribbean nations convened for a two-day regional policy meeting focused on reforming the international financial architecture to better serve Small Island Developing States.
The meeting produced a joint statement calling for reform of the World Bank’s lending criteria, expansion of Special Drawing Rights (SDR) allocations, and the creation of a Caribbean-specific climate finance facility.
Participants agreed to establish a working group to develop detailed policy proposals for presentation at the next UN General Assembly.
